Plans & billing

Moonitor has three plans. Each one sets how many monitors you can run, how fast they check, which monitor types you can use, and how many people can be on the account. Here’s how they compare and how to manage your subscription.

Every plan is built around the same four limits, so picking one is mostly about how much you need to watch and how quickly you want to know when something breaks. You can change plans at any time, and you can always see the live comparison on the public pricing page.

Tip

You can start with a 7-day free trial (no card) and choose a plan any time. Try Moonitor first, then pick the plan that fits when you’re ready.

Compare the plans

Prices are per month. “Fastest checks” is the shortest interval you can configure on that plan — you can always check less often if you prefer.

PlanPriceMonitorsFastest checksMonitor typesUsers
Solo$14/mo20Every 60 secondsWebsite/API, Ping, SSL1 user
Team$26/mo100Every 30 secondsAll typesUnlimited
Max$49/moUnlimitedEvery 30 secondsAll typesUnlimited

Solo includes the Website/API, Ping and SSL checks. Team and Max include every monitor type — adding Keyword, Port, Cron/Heartbeat, DNS and Domain. For exactly what each check does, see Monitor types.

The Users column is how many people can share the account. On Team and Max you can invite as many teammates as you like; Solo is just you. See Team & members to invite people and manage owner and member roles.

Managing your subscription

Everything to do with billing lives in the dashboard under Billing. What you see there depends on whether you’re currently on a paid plan.

Choosing a plan after your trial

Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial of the Team plan. Before it ends, pick Solo, Team or Max from Billing to keep monitoring.

  1. 1

    Open Billing

Go to Billing in the dashboard.

  2. 2

    Choose Solo, Team or Max

Pick the plan that fits how much you need to monitor.

  3. 3

    Enter payment details

You’ll be taken to secure Stripe Checkout to enter your payment details. As soon as the payment goes through, your new limits apply.

Already on a paid plan

Use Manage billing to open the Stripe Customer Portal. From there you can switch plans, update your card, download invoices, or cancel. Plan switches are prorated automatically, so you only pay the difference for the time that’s left in your billing period.

Payments

Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Moonitor never sees or stores your card details. Any cards and payment methods that Stripe supports in your region are accepted.

Downgrading or cancelling

Changing plans never deletes your data, and cancelling won’t cut you off mid-cycle. Here’s exactly what happens.

  1. 1

Your paid plan runs out the period you paid for

When you cancel, your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. After that, monitoring pauses until you choose a plan (monitors and history are kept).

  2. 2

    Your data is kept

Your monitors, history and status pages are all kept — monitoring just pauses until you choose a plan.

  3. 3

Fast checks are slowed to your plan’s limit

If any monitors check faster than your new plan allows, their checks are automatically slowed to your plan’s fastest allowed interval.

  4. 4

    Extra monitors keep running

If you have more monitors than the new plan allows, they keep running — but you can’t add new ones until you’re back under the limit.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, your monitors keep running for a grace period while the payment is automatically retried. Update your card via Manage billing to settle up and get back to normal. If the retries don’t succeed, the subscription is eventually cancelled and monitoring pauses until you choose a plan again — your monitors and history are kept either way.

Note

Plan limits are enforced when you create or edit monitors — that’s where you’ll see how much headroom you have left. See Managing monitors for the details.
